For the past twenty years Mary Thompson has been a teacher and practitioner of Ayurveda. Although she believes that we remember these principles more so than learn them, she sought to fully understand Ayurveda through study in the US and abroad. She completed her training in the US at the California College of Ayurveda and then attended an internship with The International Academy of Ayuved in Pune, India.
Over the years she has introduced these principles to thousands through classes, workshops, and seminars and has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally. She was on the founding board of the California Association of Ayurveda and is a practitioner member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association in the United States. She currently teaches practitioners-to-be with the California College of Ayurveda and supports practitioners around the world through advanced education and mentoring. She has developed a program on Women’s Health with the Ayurveda Experience and is soon releasing a full program with them on creating and maintaining mental health using Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle.
She acknowledges that this field is vast and it would take many lifetimes to master its principles and applications. Her ability to convey its principles in a light and lively manner has inspired many as she makes this deep knowledge both accessible and entertaining. Using analogies and storytelling, she is to able to present difficult concepts in easy to understand ways.
Mary Thompson enlivens the study of Ayurveda as she strives daily to incorporate these healing principles in all aspects of her life. Knowing that none of us is perfect, she commits each day to walk this path more faithfully.
